Warriors In Fourth After First Day Of Fresno State Lexus Classic

FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team (300-288=588) finished the first day of the Fresno State Lexus Classic in fourth place at the Sunnyside Country Club Monday.

Kyle Walters (76-68=144) is tied for ninth individually at even par. Travis Toyama (78-70=148) is tied for 20th with Pierre-Henri Soero (72-78=150) in a tie for 33rd, Ryan Perez (79-73=152) in a tie for 44th, Cody Wolfenbarger (76-77=153) in a tie for 51st and Cody Pewarchuk (76-78=154) in a tie for 59th.

San Diego State (-12) leads the tournament, followed by UC Irvine (-7), Nevada (+11), UH (+12) and Fresno State (+14).

Individually, there is a three-way tie at the top between UC Irivine's Jay Choe and SDSU's Aaron Goldberg and Adam Porzak (-3). UCI's Brian Edick is tied for fourth with Thomas Peterrson of Pacific and San Jose State's Roscoe Valentine (-2).

The tournament concludes with one round tomorrow.
