WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i - University of Hawai'i men's tennis player
Sascha Heinemann advanced to the second round of the main singles draw at the USTA Waikoloa Futures pro circuit tournament, Wednesday, at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort.
The junior rolled over Jeremiah Fuller in straight sets, 6-3, 4-1, retired, in the first round. Heinemann has won three straight singles matches including five of his last six. The Eschwege, Germany native, won two matches in the qualifying singles draw to earn a spot in the main draw.
Heinemann will next face Ty Trombetta in the second round of the main draw. Trombetta received a wild card spot in the main draw and defeated the No. 8 seed, Christoph Palmanshoffer, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, in the first round.
The pro circuit tournament continues throughout the week.
