`Bows Place Sixth at Sloops

The No. 16 ranked University of Hawai`i coed sailing team tallied a sixth place finish at the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Sloop National Championship, in Fort Worth, Texas. No. 2 St. Mary's ended the regatta in first place with 27 points. UH recorded 57 points in 10 races throughout the two-day event and placed ahead of four other teams.

Junior Mark Spector, who placed 10th at the recent ICSA Singlehanded National Championship, was be joined by sophomore Ryan Wild and freshman Peter Wenner for the regatta. Spector was the skipper, Wenner was the middle, and Wild was the bow Hawai`i.

UH ended their fall campaign and will next compete in the Rainbow Invite, Jan. 19-20, in Honolulu, O`ahu.
