HONOLULU - University of Hawai'i men's tennis player
Andreas Weber advanced to the second round of the main singles draw at the Oceanic Time Warner Cable 2007 Honolulu Futures pro circuit tournament, Wednesday, at the UH Tennis Complex.
Weber, ranked No. 28 in the ITA preseason rankings, ousted American Brad Lum-Tucker in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, in first round action of the main draw. Weber will next compete against eight-seeded Christoph Palmanshoffer of Austria in the second round on Thursday.
Rainbow Warrior junior Sascha Heinemann, ranked No. 50 in the ITA preseason rankings, lost a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Dennis Lajola, brother of former Rainbow Warrior and current Rainbow Wahine tennis assistant coach, Derrick Lajola, in the first round.
The tournament continues throughout the week and concludes with the main draw finals, Sunday, Nov. 18.
