Final Round Results

KAPOLEI, O`ahu - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team (308-309-312-929) held onto sixth place in the Kent Youel Invitational at the Kapolei Golf Course Wednesday. The tournament was the team's final competition of the fall season.

Xyra Suyetsugu (74-77-73-224) had one of her best tournaments, leading the Rainbow Wahine with a one-over-par final round to finish the tournament tied for 11th. Carolina Perez (81-72-80-233) and Corie Hou (75-80-78-233) both finished tied for 33rd, while teammate Lisa Kajihara (80-80-81-241) finished tied for 65th. Phyllis Lai (79-84-86-249) shot a final round 86 to land her tied for 85th.

UH teammates Kimberley Marsden (84-77-80-241) and Erin Matsuoka (80-79-89-248) competed as individuals and finished tied for 65th and 81st, respectively.

It was a battle amongst teammates for the individual title, as UCLA's Tiffany Joh (72-73-72-217) and Maria Jose Uribe (72-70-75-217) shared the crown, while Southern California teammates Belen Mozo (71-76-71-218) and Joanne Lee (72-75-71-218) shared third place.

Top-ranked UCLA (293-291-297-881) took home the title after playing a solid, consistent tournament. But third-ranked Southern California (294-301-290-885) closed in on the Bruins late, before falling four strokes short. California (307-293-296-896) stayed in the mix, and widened the gap from Oregon State (305-310-302-917) and San Jose State (307-306-305-918), who switched places again to finish fourth and fifth repectively.
