First Day Results

EL CAJON, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team (306-315-621) finished the first day of the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational in a tie for 12th at the Willow Glen Course Monday.

Kyle Walters (74-78-152) leads the Hawai`i team, tying for 22nd. Cody Pewarchuk (77-78-155) is tied for 47th, followed by Ryan Perez (76-80-156), tied for 55th, and Ashton Herriott (83-79-162) and (79-83-162), tied for 80th.

San Diego State leads the way in the tough tournament at 18-over-par. Wichita State is in second at +24, followed by Missouri and UC Riverside (+26) and Fresno State (+34).

UC Riverside's Nick Paez and San Diego State's Jerry Porras are tied for the tournament-lead at even-par. They are followed by Matt Kinsinger of UNLV (+1), Wichita State's Tyler Sanders (+2) and San Diego State's Johan Carlsson (+3).

The tournament concludes Tuesday with the final round.
