Rainbow Wahine Lose To No. 57 San Diego, 7-0

SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The University of Hawai`i women's tennis team lost a 7-0 decision to the No. 57th ranked San Diego Toreros (1-0), Sunday at the USD West Tennis Courts. The Rainbow Wahine are still in search of their first dual match win of the 2007 season after falling to 0-3.

In doubles play, UH jumped off to a slow start by dropping all three matches to lose the doubles point. The duo of seniors Samanta Cappella and Jacqui Williams dropped a tough 8-4 decision to Sophia Vogt and Alexandra Demidova, 8-4 at the No. 2 position.

UH lost all six matches in singles play. Senior Kana Aikawa was defeated at the No. 1 court to Monica Wiesener, 6-2, 6-3. Junior Chloe Bihag lost a hard fought match to San Diego's Samantha Mouley, 6-3, 6-3, at the No. 3 position.

Hawai`i concludes its four-match Southern California road trip at Cal State Fullerton, Monday afternoon at the Titan Courts.
