ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team finished 14th in the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate Saturday, posting a 42-over-par 906 (305-304-297) for the tournament.
Pierre-Henri Soero led UH, tying for 14th individually at four-over-par (70-74-76=220). Travis Toyama tied for the best final round with a five-under-par 67, finishing the tournament in a tie for 31st at eight-over-par (80-77-67=224). The other Hawai`i golfers competing were Ryan Perez (78-73-81=232, t80), Kyle Walters (78-85-75=238, t101) and Cody Wolfenbarger (79-80-79=238, t101).
Host New Mexico won the team title with a score of 10-over-par. The Lobos edged out Brigham Young (+11). Following the Cougars were Pepperdine (+13) and Texas A&M (+14).
Lobo Charlie Beljan won the individual title at six-under-par. He was followed by UNLV's Jerrod Texter (-5), Tulsa's Brett Myers (-4), Texas A&M's Martin Piller (-3) and BYU's Daniel Summerhays (-2).
