ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team finished the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, held on Sept. 11 and 12, with a score of 921 (45-over-par), tying with Oregon for 14th.
Dale Gammie (72-75-75=222) led the way for UH, finishing in a tie for 18th. Lisa Kajihara (75-77-76=228) was the next best finisher, tying for 39th, followed by Carolina Perez (75-78-80=233, t60), Xyra Suyetsugu (74-84-80=238, t76) and Nancy Shon (84-85-83=252, 91).
Arizona State won the tournament with a team score of seven-under-par. They were followed by Brigham Young and UNLV (+7), Texas Christian (+13) and South Carolina (+14).
TCU's Catherine Matranga won the individual title (-5). Florida's Sandra Gal, Arizona State's Anna Nordqvist and South Carolina's Benedicte Toumpsin all tied for second at -4, while UNLV's Da Sol Chung and South Carolina's Jenna Pearson tied for fifth at -3.
