Hamamoto Tied For Lead While Warriors In Fourth At WAC Championships

Day Two Results

BOISE, Idaho - Jarett Hamamoto (73-68=141) shot a championship-low 68 in the second round, moving into a tie for first at one-under-par, while the University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team (+20) moved up to fourth at the WAC Championships at Crane Creek Country Club Tuesday.

Pierre-Henri Soero (75-72=147) moved into a tie for ninth at +5. Also competing for the Warriors were Travis Toyama (73-77=150) in a tie for 21st at +8, Ryan Perez (75-77=152) in a tie for 30th at +10 and Cody Wolfenbarger (73-80=153) in a tie for 32nd at +11.

New Mexico State remains first at +13, followed by Fresno State (+15), Boise State (+18), UH, Nevada (+27), San Jose State (+31), Louisiana Tech (+32), Idaho (+45) and Utah State (+46).

NMSU's Matt Edwards is tied with Hamamoto for the lead at -1. Brian Kelley of Fresno State (+1) is in third, followed by Boise State's Jason Williams (+2) and Nevada's John Cassidy (+3).

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the crowning of the WAC Champions, who will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional.
