Rainbow Wahine Remain In Sixth After Second Day Of WAC Championships

Day Two Results

MORGAN HILL, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team (314-318=632) remains in sixth place at the WAC Championships at the Coyote Creek Golf Club after the second day of competition.

Xyra Suyetsugu shot her second-straight 76 to move into a tie for fifth at +8. Lisa Kajihara (78-81=159, +15) is tied for 17th, followed by Carolina Perez (80-80=160, +16), tied for 22nd, Tara Chappell (80-81=161, +17, in 24th, and Dale Gammie (82-85=167, +23) in a tie for 31st.

San Jose State (+40) remains in first place, followed by New Mexico State (+46), Nevada (+47), Fresno State (+50), Idaho (+51), UH and Boise State (+61).

Individually, Boise State's Mandi Hedberg (+3), took over the lead after shooting the first under par round of 70. Carmina Calle of SJSU fell back into a tie for second with teammate Jenelle Gomez and Renee Skidmore of Idaho at +6, while Suyetsugu and Nevada's Nicole De Gennaro are tied for fifth at +8.

The tournament concludes tomorrow.
