Warriors Finish Ping Cougar Classic In Eighth Place

Final Results

PROVO, Utah - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team (287-279-292=858) finished the Ping Cougar Classic at six-under-par, taking eighth in the tournament.

Travis Toyama (72-69-70=211) was the top UH golfer, finishing in a tie for 23rd at -5. Pierre-Henri Soero (72-67-75=214) was tied for 32nd, followed by Jarett Hamamoto (73-73-72=218, t-45th), Kyle Walters (70-74-75=219, t-54th) and Cody Wolfenbarger (76-70-77=223, t-65th).

Host Brigham Young won the tournament at -36. They were followed by Charlotte (-35), Weber State (-26), UNLV (-25) and Nevada (-23).

Weber State's Barry Schenk was the individual medalist at -15. He was followed by Graham DeLaet of Boise State, Dustin Pimm of Utah and BYU's Jake Ellison at -11, and three golfers tied for fifth at -10.

Hawai`i will now get ready for the WAC Championships on May 1-3.
