HONOLULU - The Hawai`i women's tennis team dropped its regular season finale to Brigham Young-Hawai`i, 7-0, Wednesday, at the UH Tennis Complex. The dual match began on Tuesday but was suspended one day due to rain.

The Seasiders (21-0), ranked second in the latest ITA Division II poll, won all three doubles contests and six singles matches in straight sets. BYUH, which features six nationally ranked singles players and the top two doubles teams in Division II, snapped UH's modest two-match win streak.

After the Seasiders captured the doubles point, the Rainbow Wahine (3-17-1) didn't go down without a fight as sophomore Chloe Bihag played a competitive match with Julia Ustyuzhanina, the top-ranked Division II singles player. Ustyuzhanina, who along with partner Tetyana Bula are also the second-ranked doubles pair, defeated Bihag, 6-4, 6-4, at the No. 1 court. Ustyuzhanina and Bula teamed for an 8-1 victory over Bihag and Florence Wasko at the No. 2 doubles court.

BYUH's Jing Jing Liu, ranked fourth, ousted junior Kana Aikawa, 6-0, 6-0, at singles court two, while UH's Jacqui Williams saw her four-match singles win streak snapped by ninth-ranked Ramona Husaru, 6-1, 6-0, at the No. 3 position.

The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the Western Athletic Conference Championship, April 21-24, in Boise, Idaho.
