UH Women's Tennis Falls To UC Davis, 4-2

HONOLULU - In a match delayed four hours due to persistent rain throughout the island of Oahu, the Hawai`i women's tennis team and UC Davis finally completed their dual with the Aggies prevailing, 4-2, Monday, at the UH Tennis Complex. The teams decided to complete singles play first as the Aggies had a rescheduled dual against Hawai`i Pacific following the UH match.

UCD got off to a quick start with straight sets wins by Robin Guier, Iolani School graduate Jenna Kappel, and Ally Muller. Guier defeated UH sophomore Chloe Bihag on court two, 6-2, 6-1; Kappel downed junior Samanta Cappella, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4; and Muller swept junior Kana Aikawa, 6-2, 6-0, at the third position.

With UH (1-16-1) leading on courts three and five, the Aggies closed out the match with Yuka Otaka's 7-6 (2), 6-4 victory over sophomore Julia Sandborn at No. 6. The Rainbow Wahine scored two points with wins by junior Florence Wasko over Nancy Mok, 7-6 (3), 6-3, and junior Jacqui Williams over Audrey Wingo, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Hawai`i will take the next week off before hosting Chaminade, Tuesday, April 4. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
