UH Tied For 12th, Soero Tied For Fourth After One Round At Western Intercollegiate

First Round Results

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team shot a 299 in the first round of the Western Intercollegiate Monday, tying UH for 12th in the field.

Pierre-Henri Soero is tied for fourth individually, firing an opening-round 70. Travis Toyama is right behind, shooting a 71 to tie for ninth. Jarett Hamamoto and Ryan Perez shot 79 to tie them for 74th while Cody Wolfenbarger fired 83 to tie for 88th.

Duke leads the tournament with a team score of 284, followed by UC Santa Barbara and Stanford (289), New Mexico State (291) and Santa Clara and UC Irvine (295).

Individually, Duke's Ryan Blaum and Stanford's Rob Grube are tied for the lead at 68. Duke's Jake Grodzinsky is in third with a 69 while five golfers, including Soero, are tied for fourth at 70.
