HONOLULU - The Hawai`i women's tennis team was overmatched in a 6-0 loss to Oklahoma, Wednesday, at the UH Tennis Complex. Playing their fourth match in as many days, the Rainbow Wahine (0-12-1) were swept in all six singles matches.
The Sooners won five of the six matches in straight sets, including at the No. 1 court, where Gabby Baker defeated Kana Aikawa, 6-2, 6-2. The only match that didn't end in straight sets was at No. 6, where UH's Fenja Shaw pushed OU's Gabriela Nastasa to a super-tiebreaker before falling, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (3).
The teams did not play doubles.
The Rainbow Wahine continue their weeklong homestand by hosting Wyoming, Friday, and Texas Tech, Saturday. Both matches begin at 3:00 p.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
