Rainbow Wahine Close Fresno State Invitational In Tie For Eighth

Final Results

FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team fired a second-round 296 (+8) to finish in a tie for eighth at the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational Tuesday.

Dale Gammie led the UH charge, shooting the low round of the day at 68, after struggling to a 80 on the first day of the tournament. Gammie finished in a tie for 12th at +4. Xyra Suyetsugu finished in a tie for 32nd at +7, shooting a 76 in the second day. She was followed by Carolina Perez (75-78=153, t-47), Lisa Kajihara (81-74=155, t-59) and Kari Sur (90-80=170, t-96).

UC Irvine took home the team title, shooting five-under-par, nine strokes better than Long Beach State, which finished in second. New Mexico State took their at +15, followed by San Jose State (+16) and Oregon State and Fresno State (+19).

Individually, UCI's Selanee Henderson' was the medalist at -7. She was followed by Long Beach State's Hayley Wilkinson (-1) and Kay Hoey of LBSU, Carmina Calle of San Jose State and UCI's Angela Won (+1).

UH will next play in the Spartan Invitational on March 7 and 8, in San Jose, Calif.
