Warriors Finish John Burns In 17th While Soero Finishes In 7th

Final Results

WAHIAWA, Oahu - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team closed their John Burns Intercollegiate in 17th place, finishing with a team score of one-under-par (290-282-291=863) at the Leilehua Golf Course Friday.

Pierre-Henri Soero finished the tournament at -11 (70-66-69=205), tying for seventh individually. Jarett Hamamoto battled to a tie for 60th at -1 (71-72-72=215), while Travis Toyama finished in a tie for 69th at +1 (72-71-74=217), Cody Wolfenbarger (80-73-76=229) tied for 101st and Ryan Perez (77-74-79=230) took 103rd. Kyle Walters (74-68-71=213) tied for 42nd as an individual at -3. Cody Pewarchuck (71-71-73=215, -1, t-60) and Jordan Belton (77-81-78=236, +20, 106) also competed as individuals.

Southern Methodist won the team title, firing a -41. They were followed by Brigham Young (-40), New Mexico (-34), San Diego State (-33) and Colorado State (-32).

SMU's Brandon DeStefano won the individual title over Auburn's Jay Moseley on the second playoff hole. Both golfers finished at -14. They were followed by Andrew Scott of San Diego State and Derrick Whiting of Colorado State (-13) and Brett Lederer of Long Beach State and Oscar Alvarez of BYU (-12).
