Warriors Remain In Fourth After Day Two At UH Hilo Invitational

Day Two Results

HILO, Hawai`i - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team remained in a tie for fourth at the UH Hilo Invitational, shooting a second round 297 to put them at four-over-par at the Waikaloa Village Golf Course.

Travis Toyama shot his second-straight 69 to place him in a tie for sixth at four-under-par. Jarett Hamamoto, who fired an opening round 65, dropped back to a tie for 28th (+1) after shooting a 78 in the second round. Kyle Walters (t39, 70-75-145, +3), Ryan Perez (t60, 71-77-148, +6) and Pierre-Henri Soero (t71, 73-76-149, +7) also scored for the Warriors.

Georgia Tech (-21) was the only team to shoot under par in the second round, increasing their lead over the field to 14 strokes. Tech is followed by Oklahoma State (-7), Southern California (-3) and UH and Washington (+4).

Individually, Tech's Cameron Tringale took over the lead at -10. He's followed by Pablo Martin of Oklahoma State (-8) and Kevin Larsen of Georgia Tech, Edward McGlasson of Colorado and Stephen Swanepoel of Augusta State (-5).

Play in the UH Hilo Invitational concludes on Feb. 10.
