HONOLULU - University of Hawai'i sophomore Sascha Heinemann advanced to the second round of the USTA's Honolulu Futures Pro Circuit tournament, Tuesday, at the UH Tennis Complex.

Heinemann defeated Dennis Lajola of 'Aiea, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 in a first round match. Lajola is the younger brother of Heinemann's teammate and Rainbow Warrior senior Derrick Lajola.

The Eschwege, Germany native., will next face either third-seeded Lesley Joseph or Tyler Hochwalt in a second round match on Wednesday. Joseph has a world ranking of No. 429.

The tournament continues throughout the week with the finals scheduled for Sunday.
