HONOLULU - The final day of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational featured singles wins by University of Hawai`i women's tennis players Chloe Bihag, Samanta Cappella, and Julia Sandborn, Saturday, at the UH Tennis Complex. The three-day, four-team tournament featured local teams Brigham Young-Hawai`i and Hawai`i Pacific, along with nationally ranked BYU.

In doubles play, the Rainbow Wahine won one of three matches including a 9-7 decision by UH's Sandborn and Cappella over BYU's Jocelyn Jensen and Brianna Williamsen.

Hawai`i rebounded in singles play as Bihag, Cappella, and Sandborn won their matches. Bihag defeated Williamsen, 6-2, 6-4, while Sandborn swept HPU's Kaitlynn Brown, 6-3, 6-0. Cappella rallied from a set down for a 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (4) win over Aleen Taylor of BYU.

Senior Sabita Walkup suffered her first singles loss in the tournament and was forced to retire down 7-5, 2-1, to BYUH's top player Jing Jing Liu.

The Rainbow Wahine take the next two weeks off before traveling to the Wilson/ITA Western Regionals in San Diego, Calif.
