HONOLULU - On the second day of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, University of Hawai`i women's tennis player Sabita Walkup won both of her singles and doubles matches, Friday, at the UH Tennis Complex. The senior improved her record to 4-0 in the four-team tournament, which features local Division II powerhouses Brigham Young-Hawai`i and Hawai`i Pacific, along with nationally ranked BYU.

In singles play, Walkup out-dueled BYU's Lauren Jones, 7-5, 6-4, in a match that lasted two and a half hours. Down 4-2 in the second, Walkup, ranked No. 116 in the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, rallied and took the final four games. However the Cougars won five of the other singles matches between UH players.

Walkup teamed with Jacqui Williams to defeat BYU's top duo of Anastasia Sourkova and Jenny Miccoli, 8-4, in doubles action. UH's other tandem of Kana Aikawa and Chloe Bihag stopped HPU's Anastasia Ageychik and Stephanie Bigom, 8-4.

The tournament concludes on Saturday at the UH Tennis Complex. Doubles matches begin at 10:00 a.m.
