TULSA, Okla. - The University of Hawai`i doubles team of
Andreas Weber and
Matt Seeberger was eliminated in the second round of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championship qualifying round, Tuesday, at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The loss means there are no remaining UH players left in collegiate tennis' first major tournament of the year.
Weber and Seeberger won their first round match over Rice's Ben Harknett and Tobias Scheil, 8-2. William and Mary's Alex Cojanu and Colin O'Brien ended the UH duo's run with an 8-5 victory in a Round of 16 match.
Earlier in the day, Weber, a freshman from Huenfeld, Germany, fell in the second round of singles qualifying to California's Pierre Mouillon, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-4.
UH's Sascha Heinemann and Derrick Lajola, a late addition to the doubles draw, was scratched from their match against Auburn's Robbert Lathouwers and Alex Schweizer.
The Rainbow Warriors will next compete at the Wilson/ITA Northwest Regionals in two weeks.
