STANFORD, Calif. -University of Hawai`i freshman Andreas Weber was eliminated on day four of the Wilson/ITA Northwest Region Championships Monday at the Taube Tennis Center despite a valiant come back effort.

Weber, the third-seeded player in the tournament, almost pulled off a come-from-behind victory over top seed Alex Slovic of Washington. Weber was defeated in three-sets, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-2. The Huenfeld, Germany native finished with a 4-1 tournament record and is 5-2 on the season. Weber is currently ranked No. 125 in the preseason Fila/Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings.

The Rainbow Warriors will next compete in the USTA Waikoloa Futures tournament beginning on Nov. 4.
