Warriors Finish District 7 Shoot-out In Sixth

Final Results

LAS VEGAS - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team (284-281-285=850) concluded their District 7 Shoot-out at two-under-par, finishing sixth at the Angel Park Golf Course Tuesday.

Pierre-Henri Soero (70-71-72=213) was the top UH finisher, tying for 24th. Travis Toyama (71-73-70=214) ended up in a tie for 30th, followed by Ryan Perez (74-70-71=215) and Kyle Walters (72-71-72=215) in a tie for 38th and Cody Wolfenbarger (71-69-76=216) in a tie for 44th.

Cody Pewarchuk (70-72-72=214) and Ashton Herriot (72-71-71=214) headlined the UH individual performers, tying for 30th. Scot Miller (76-74-75=225, t-76) and Chase Bingham (78-74-77=229) rounded out the Hawai`i golfers.

San Diego State ran away with the team-title, firing a 30-under-par 822. Boise State finished second at 16-under-par, followed by Colorado State and Denver (-4) and Nevada (-3).

SDSU's top individual, Aaron Goldberg, won a playoff to take the individual title over Boise State's Troy Merritt, after both golfers finished the three rounds at 12-under-par. Chris Cole of San Diego State was in third at eight-under-par, followed by Espen Kofstad of Denver and Blake Trimble of UNLV (-7).

Hawai`i will next head to the Barona Collegiate Cup in San Diego, Calif., on Oct. 23 and 24, before hosting their Fall Invitational, from Nov. 6-8, to conclude the fall season.
