Rainbow Warriors Fall To Stanford, 6-1

STANFORD, Calif. - The Hawai'i men's tennis team concluded its season-opening three-match road match with a 6-1 loss to No. 14 Stanford, Thursday. The Rainbow Warriors (0-3) dropped all three doubles matches but took one of the six singles matches.

In singles action, K.C. Corkery swept Sascha Heinemann, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, and teamed with James Pade to defeat Jarrod Diepraam and Ryan Sceats, 8-3 in doubles play. Pade won his singles match at No. 2 defeating Bryon Weinberg, 6-1, 6-2.

UH's lone team point came from Sceats who rallied past Blake Muller, 1-6, 7-6, 1-0 (9), in a super tie-breaker at the No. 3 singles court.

The Rainbow Warriors return to Honolulu to host Loyola Marymount, Saturday, Jan. 28. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
