UH Occupies Three-Way Tie At Rainbow Intersectional

HONOLULU-The first day of the Rainbow Intersectional at Ke`ehi Lagoon, went exceptionally well for the University of Hawai`i sailing team, as all three spots in the three-way tie for first place are held by UH teams. The UH Red, Blue, and Green teams are all tied for first with 41 points, while the UH Wahine trail closely in fourth with 49.

UH sailors Joey Pasquali and Becky Mabardy currently lead the A-Division with 16 points. The B-Division is led by junior Danny Pavel and crew. The fourth-ranked women's sailing team in the nation, the UH Wahine, are attempting to get a share of first place; down only 8 points to their fellow counterparts. UC-Santa Barbara completes the top five, 15 points below the Wahine, at 61.

The Intersectional wraps up tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 22, bright and early, with the first race underway at 9:30 am.
