Rainbow Wahine Finish 18th At Dick McGuire Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team finished University of New Mexico Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in 18th place, shooting 86-over-par as a team in the tournament. UH shot a 30-over-par 322 on the final day.

Lisa Kajihara shot a 77 on the final day to finish in a tie for 70th with a three-day total of 234, 15-over-par. Dale Gammie also finished in 70th for the tournament after shooting an 80 on the final day. Xyra Suyetsugu shot 80 on the final day, finishing at 26-over-par, in 94th place. Roslyn Folk (+30, 97th) and Kari Sur (+36, 98th) rounded out the UH team.

Pepperdine won the tournament with a team score of three-under-par, followed by Texas A&M (-1), tournament host New Mexico (+6), UNLV (+7) and Ohio State (+10). Pepperdine's Eileen Vargas shot 68 on the final day to finish at eight-under-par, winning the individual title.

The Rainbow Wahine will return home before heading back out to New Mexico for the New Mexico State Invitational on Oct. 17 and 18 in Las Cruces, N.M.
