Warriors In 14th After Day One Of Wolf Pack Classic

RENO, Nev. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team are in 14th place after day one of the Wolf Pack Classic, shooting a seven-over-par 295. Jarett Hamamoto was UH's top golfer, firing a three-under-par 69, putting him in a tie for 12th place.

Hamamoto came out with a 32 on the front nine, but cooled off, shooting a 37 on the back. Pierre-Henri Soero shot a one-under par 71, placing him in 19th place. Cody Wolfenbarger (+4, 76, t-73rd), Ryan Perez (+7, 79, t-89th) and Travis Toyama (+9, 81, t-97th) round out UH's team.

Denver shot an opening round 274 (14-under-par) as a team to hold the tournament-lead. Arkansas is in second at six-under, while UC-Santa Barbara lies in third at three-under. There's a three-way tie for fourth at two-under between tournament host Nevada, San Diego and Sacramento State.

Sacramento State's Chad Wood shot a blazing 10-under-par 62 to take the individual tournament lead, followed by three golfers (Colby Lindsay, UTEP; Robert Goff, New Mexico State; Jeff Koprivetz, Denver) that are tied for second with a six-under-par 66.

The tournament concludes on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
