HONOLULU - The Hawai`i women's tennis team continued its hot play with a 7-0 victory over Azusa Pacific, the NAIA's fourth-ranked team, Tuesday, at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine (9-13) enter their final regular season home match with a season-best four-match win streak.

UH swept the doubles matches including the No. 2 court where senior Justine Boutet and sophomore Sylvia Jaros improved to a perfect 8-0 with an 8-2 victory over Peggy Bell and Lynn Quitoriano.

The Cougars (15-5) proved more competitive in singles play but UH still prevailed, winning all six matches despite playing without regular starters Jaros (wrist) and Paige Mainor (back). Boutet, senior Kimberly Curtis and sophomore Kana Aikawa moved up a spot while reserves Bihag and Samanta Cappella played the Nos. 5 and 6 courts, respectively.

Senior Lauren Fitzgerald, ranked No. 103 in the latest ITA national rankings, got things started with a 6-2, 6-1, victory over Jennifer Dao at No. 1. At No. 5, Bihag picked up her first career victory at UH, defeating Mayu Sato, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.

The Rainbow Wahine host Boise State in a Western Athletic Conference match-up, Tuesday, April 19 before hosting the WAC Championships, April 21-24 at the UH Tennis Complex.
