Rainbow Wahine Tie For 11th In Peg Barnard California Collegiate

STANFORD, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i women's golf team tied with Oregon State for 11th place and finished the Stanford-hosted Peg Barnard California Collegiate with a 36-hole total of 637 on the 6,030 yard Stanford golf course, this past weekend.

Sophomore Sara Odelius led all Rainbow Wahine as she finished in a six-way tie for 30th after shooting 155 over two days. Also competeing for UH were sophomore Dale Gammie (158, T39), junior Tara Chappell (158, T39), freshman Xyra Suyetsugu (166, T59) and junior Kari Sur (181, 80th).

The University of Washington edged their cross-state rival, Washington State, by three strokes to capture the team title. The Huskies finished with a 36-hole total of 587, 19 stokes above par. The Cougars' Kim Welch took home the top individual honors after finishing with a two-under 140 after two rounds. Up next for the Rainbow Wahine will be the WAC Championships in Boise on April 18-20.
