SAN FRANCISCO - The University of Hawai`i coed sailing team finished 15th at the Saint Francis Intersectional hosted by Stanford University, April 9-10.

A record number of 31 varsity teams participated in the two-day regatta with UH fielding both a coed and women's squad. The UH women's squad finished in 10th overall. A total of 24 races were completed in both A and B divisions. Conditions in the first two races of each day were at 6-10 knots, building to 12-15 and as high as 18.

UC Irvine ran away with the top spot early, then held off USC and Stanford to claim the regatta with a point total of 89. The UH coed squad was 269 points off the pace at 355. Sophomores Shandy Buckley and Cassandra Harris raced in the A division and finished with 201 points, while Sarah Dosek and Meredith Adams competed in the B division with a total of 154 points.

Next up for the coed squad is the Pacific Coast Championships in both team racing and coed fleet racing, hosted by USC in Long Beach, Calif., April 29-May 1.
