Hawai`i Sailing 14th at the Truxtun Umsted Regatta

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The University of Hawai`i's coed sailing team finished the two-day Truxtun Umsted Regatta in 14th, today March 20.

Hawai`i finished the regatta with a total of 417 points.

Junior Joey Pasquali and sophomore Shandy Buckley completed the A division of the competition in 12th with 105 points. The duo attained two first place finishes, first in the sixth race and again in the ninth.

Junior Scott DeCurtis and freshman Rebecca Mabardy had the best showing of the day for Hawai`i finishing with 61 points finishing third in the B division. DeCurtis and Mabardy finished the last eight races of the B division strong by finishing ninth or better.

Freshman Mark Spector finished the C division in 12th with a point total of 115. Spector finished three races in the top-5.

Freshman Tinja Anderson-Mitterling finished the D division with 136 points placing 15th. Anderson-Mitterling had her best finish in the eighth race by finishing fourth.

Harvard, Navy, St. Mary's (Md.), Hobart/William Smith and Yale rounded out the top-5.
