HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i men's tennis team defeated future WAC opponent Utah State, earning their fourth straight home victory, and second of their current four game home-stand, Wednesday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Warriors earned an impressive 6-1 victory improving to 5-9 on the year. The Aggies dropped to 5-11.
Hawai`i swept all three doubles matches led by Ryan Sceats and Jarrod Diepraam's 8-1 victory over Jonas Tyden and Mike Banks earning the first point of the day. Sceats also defeated Rashan Rasekhi in singles play, his ninth consecutive singles victory. At No.1, Dalibor Ptak dropped the first set to Joao Pinho 5-7, but took the next two sets convincingly, 6-2, 6-1.
The Rainbow Warriors next play on Monday, Mar. 21, against San Diego at the UH Tennis Complex. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
