Honolulu - Virginia catcher Jenn Wynn whacked a three-run home hun in the bottom of the first inning and the Cavaliers' pitcher Erin Horn held the Hawai'i offense at bay for a complete game victory.
The 'Hoos added another run in the third to extend their lead to 4-0 when Sara Larquier scored on a triple from Kierstie Cameron that was hit to the right-centerfield gap. That was all the offense Horn needed for the win. She gave up only three hits, struck out seven and walked four.
For Hawai'i Kaulana Gould had her first collegiate home run with a line shot over the centerfield fence. Ashley Ruff had a double and a single, going 2-3 to lead the UH offense.
