PALO ALTO, Calif. - The 7th ranked University of Hawai`i women's water polo squad dropped an 8-7 decision to No. 11 Indiana late last night on the first day of the Stanford Tournament.
It was Hawai`i's (1-2, 1-1 MPSF) second-straight loss after opening the season with a win at No. 12 San Jose State. UH dropped a 9-5 match on Friday to No. 3 Stanford.
Last night, UH got an outstanding effort from Monika Kruszona, a freshman from Germany, as she tallied four goals for the Rainbow Wahine.
Teammates Audrey Harrer added a pair of goals and Beth Novick scored once.
Indiana picked up two wins yesterday also knocking off No. 6 California, 8-5. Against UH, IU got two goals each from Peterson and Conway while teammates Waldthaler, Schmitt, Pardy, and Meadows added one apiece.
UH concludes the two-day tournament today.
