Day One Results
HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team shot an opening round 293 (five-over-par) to place fifth in the UH Fall Intercollegiate after the first round at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course Monday.
Jarett Hamamoto is the top UH golfer, tying for eighth with a one-under-par 71. Hamamoto shot a 33 on the front nine before falling back with a 38 on the back. Pierre-Henri Soero shot an even par 72 to tie for 14th, followed by Travis Toyama (t-23rd, 74), Cody Wolfenbarger (-43rd, 76) and Kyle Walters (t-55th, 77). Three Hawai`i golfers played individually, led by Jordan Belton (t-23rd, 74). UH's other individuals were Cody Pewarchuk (t-30th, 75) and Scot Miller (t-72nd, 79).
New Mexico State started the intercollegiate with a five-under-par 283 to hold the lead after one round. They are followed by UNLV (-2), Baylor (+2), San Diego State (+4) and the Warriors. Individually, San Diego's Luke Antonelli and UNLV's C.J. Gatto hold the tournament-lead at -6. They are followed by Baylor's Ryan Baca and Sevng-Su Han of UNLV at -4 and Louisiana Tech's Amrith de Soysa and San Diego's Jimmy Harris at -3.
The intercollegiate continues tomorrow with a 8 a.m. shotgun start before concluding on Wednesday, Nov. 9, also at 8 a.m.
