WAIPAHU - On the final day of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Saturday, champions in three divisions were crowned at the Central Oahu Regional Park. The tournament was moved on Friday to the Central Oahu Regional Park after persistent rain at the University of Hawai`i campus caused delays.
In Flight A singles, BYU-Hawai`i's Jing Jing Liu defeated teammate Julia Ustyezhanina. After losing the first set 6-4, Ustyezhanina retired with the score tied at 3-3 in the second set.
Arizona's Tina Razloznik defeated San Diego State's Sisse Nielsen, 6-2, 6-4 for the Flight B championship. Earlier in the day, Nielsen rallied for a 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 victory over top-seed Petra Teller of BYU-Hawai`i in a match suspended due to rain on Friday.
Top-seeded Eliska Krausova and Nielsen of San Diego State hung on for an 8-5 victory over Arizona's Kasia Jakolew and Jesse Rochefort for the doubles title.
