First Day Results
HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team finished the first day with scores of 313 and 321 to go to 51-over-par, good for a tie for 14th place at the Kent Youel Invitational on the Kapolei Golf Course Monday.
Hawai`i was led by Dale Gammie and Xyra Suyetsugu, who both shot 78 and 79 to tie for 41st. Lisa Kajihara (77, 83) is tied for 56th, followed by Caroline Perez (80, 81 t-61st) and Nancy Shon (82, 82, t-74th). UH's four golfers playing as individuals are Tara Chappell (79, 80, t-52nd), Roslyn Folk (83, 80, 73rd), Kari Sur (81, 85, t-83rd) and Allie Rowe (88, 95, 97th).
Southern California leads the invitational at 12-over-par. They are followed by Stanford (+21), Baylor and California (+27) and Long Beach State (+28). Individually, Stanford's Kelly Husted leads three-under-par. Baylor's Josefin Svenningsson is in second at +1, followe by four golfers that are tied at +2.
The third round is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 a.m. (shotgun start).
