UH Coed Sailing Finishes Second At Danmark Trophy

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The top-ranked University of Hawaii coed sailing team opened its season with a second place finish in the Danmark Trophy hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Oct. 1-2.

The Rainbows finished with 261 total points, nine behind champion Boston College. A total of 18 teams competed in the regatta with 18 races in both the "A" and "B" divisions completed over the two-day period. Seniors Bryan Lake and Meredith Adams finished third in the "A" division with a total of 124 points, including six first-place finishes. Senior Eric Oppen and freshman Caitlin Hill placed seventh in "B" division with 137 points and three first-place finishes.

Up next for the coed team is the Stoney Burke Intersectional, Oct. 8-9.
