Warriors Tied For 12th After First Round At Barona Cup

Round One Results

LAKESIDE, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team shot a three-under-par 285, tying for 12th after the first round of the Taylor Made Barona Cup at the Barona Creek Golf Club Monday. The second round was scheduled to be played Monday but was suspended due to fog.

Jarett Hamamoto led the Warriors with a five-under-par 67, placing him in a tie for sixth. Travis Toyama shot an even-par 72 to tie for 54th while Pierre-Henri Soero and Kyle Walters are tied for 62nd after shooting one-over-par 73s. Cody Wolfenbarger shot a 77 to tie for 95th.

Brigham Young leads the field after carding a -15 as a team, followed by Fresno State (-14), Denver (-13), San Diego (-12), Texas Tech (-10) and UTEP (-10). Denver's James Love shot an opening round 62 to hold the individual lead at -10. He's followed by UTEP's Trent Rommann (-8), Luke Antonelli of San Diego (-7), Oscar Floren of Texas Tech (-6) and James Anthony of Fresno State (-6).

The field will resume their second rounds at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning, then follow that up with the final round.
