SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Senior Ryan Sceats was eliminated from the singles Main Draw, Saturday, on the second day of the Wilson/ITA North Western Region Championships. Sceats was the lone Rainbow Warrior remaining in the singles Main Draw but he and senior Jarrod Diepraam partnered for a victory in the doubles play to advance to the Main Draw Round of 16 on Sunday.

Sceats, a Perth, Australia native, fell to ninth-seeded Tyler Browne of California, 6-1, 6-2, in the Round of 32. In doubles action, he and Diepraam defeated Nevada's Eldar Dzhafarov and Guillaume Tonelli, 8-3. They will meet the third-seeded team of Marcus Schiller and Arron Spencer of Oregon for a trip to the quarterfinals.

Two other UH doubles teams competed in the Round of 32. Stanford's Chris Rasmussen and James Wan ousted junior Chad Faulk and senior Bryon Weinberg, 8-4 while California's Lennart Maack and Daniel Sebescen, the third-seeded team, eliminated junior Brent Hunter and senior Yasuo Sakurai, 8-1.

The remaining Rainbow Warriors are competing in a singles consolation bracket. The tournament continues throughout the weekend.
