FAIRFAX, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team shot a final round 296 to move from 12th to a tie for sixth at the Fresno/Lexus Golf Classic at the San Joaquin Country Club. Hawai`i ended up at +31 on the tournament at 883.
Pierre-Henri Soero led the charge, firing a two-under-par 69, to move to a tie for 19th at +7. Kyle Walters was the top UH finisher, shooting a three-over-par 74 in the final round to end at +6, tie for 16th. Jarret Hamamoto (+9, t-27th), Travis Toyama (+12, t-39th) and Cody Wolferbarger (+18, 74th) rounded out the Warrior team.
Denver won the tournament, finishing at +6, seven strokes ahead of the field. San Diego State took second at +13, followed by San Diego (+26), Fresno State (+26) and Nevada (+29).
Denver's Charlie Soule won the individual title at -3, followed by Nevada's Adam Hagen (-2), Denver's James Love (-1), Eric Nilsson of Southern Utah (-1) and Fresno State's Mark Modglin (E).
