Warriors Finish Alister MacKenzie In 15th Place

FAIRFAX, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team had the seventh-best third round, shooting a 292 as a team, to finish in 15th in the Alister MacKenzie Invitational with an overall score of 876 (+24).

Jarett Hamamoto finished in a tie for 23rd at +1 (71, 71, 72). Kyle Walters moved up to a tie for 36th at +4 (71, 74, 72) while Cody Wolfenbarger ended in a tie for 46th at +7 (75, 71, 74). Pierre-Henri Soero (t-67th, 74, 77, 74) and Ryan Perez (80th, 82, 77, 81) rounded out the UH team.

Tournament host California (844) finished in first, followed by Fresno State (847), Purdue (848), UC-Irvine (850) and Michigan (850). Fresno State's Jon Rosa (-8) won the individual title, one stroke better than Stanford's Rob Grube (-7).

The Warriors will now take a few days off to travel down to Fresno for the Fresno State/Lexus Golf Classic on Oct. 14 and 15.
