Hawai`i Sailing: Better than Half the Competition

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i coed sailing team finished 12th in a field of 24 teams at the Rose Bowl Regatta hosted by the University of Southern California over the weekend, Jan. 8-9.

With Hawai`i's finish in the middle they scored a total of 260 points in 12 races; 138 points in the A division and 122 points in the B division.

Host USC, 85, UC Irvine, 120, Stanford, 134, Boston College, 153, and Georgetown, 153, were the first five schools to place.

Next for Hawai`i sailing is the Rainbow Invite on the weekend of Jan. 22-23.

Hawai`i's coed team is ranked sixth and the Wahine 14th on collegesailing.org as of Nov. 30, 2004.
