Rainbow Wahine in 12th After First Day at the New Mexico Dick McGuire Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team is in 12th place after the first day of competition at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, with sophomore Sara Odelius in a five-way tie for seventh-place at one-under-par.

Hawai`i came in with a 13-over-par 305 as a team. Along with Odelius, UH's other four golfers were Xyra Suyetsugu (two-over-par, T-28), Dale Gammie (three-over-par, T-45), Megan Stoddart (nine-over-par, T-84) and Kari Sur (10-over-par, T-89).

Odelius ended the day with six birdies and five bogeys, as she birdied four of the five par-five holes on the course.

The Invitational continues tomorrow as Sur will start off the Rainbow Wahine with their first tee time at 10:10 a.m. Stoddart, Gammie, Suyetsugu and Odelius will then follow in the next four threesomes.
