EL PASO, Texas--The Rainbow Wahine golf team dropped to fifth place after round two of the WAC Championships by shooting a 35-over-par 323. Despite a slow round two, freshman golfers
Sara Odelius and
Dale Gammie are still in the top 10.
Odelius stepped up her game and shot a three-over-par 75 to move into a tie for seventh after the second round of competition. After an exceptional start in round one, Gammie posted a 12-over-par 84 in round two, which dropped her to the 10th place on the leader board. Also competing for UH are senior Rene Krause (161, +17), sophomore Tara Chappell (163, +19), and freshman Megan Stoddart (172, +28).
San Jose State continues to lead the seven-team field after a round two 309, but Tulsa is only one stroke off the lead. San Jose State's Ashely Gomes remains in the top spot on the individual leader board after she shot a one-over-par 73 in the second round. The WAC Championships will finish tomorrow afternoon on the Underwood Golf Course. Competition is set to start at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.
