Box Score

HENDERSON, Nev. - Portland State's Kayla Lewis blasted a three-run homer in the top of the first and right-handed pitcher Michelle Hext tossed a four-hit shutout as Portland State upset former WAC rival Hawai`i, 6-0, on the second day of the Rebel Classic Saturday morning.

PSU (1-2) won for the first time on the young season and UH (3-6) dropped to 0-3 at the three-day tournament.

PSU's Erin Stokey's first hit of the season - a two-run homer in the fourth - put the Viks out in front, 5-0.

Staked to a comfortable lead, Hext (1-1) was tough on the Rainbow Wahine, striking out seven and walking none. She used 89 pitches recording the complete-game win over the Rainbow Wahine.

The Vikings tacked on an insurance run in the top of the seventh, when Maggie DeWall drove home Rachel Manibusan with a two-out base hit up the middle.
