Tinja Anderson-Mitterling and sophomore 
Shandy Buckley, of the University of Hawai`i sailing team, finished eighth and ninth, respectively, out of a field of 16 at the ICSA/Vanguard North American Women's Singlehanded Championship.
Anderson-Mitterling totaled 137 points and was two points from seventh. She finished nine of the 15 races in the Top 10. Her best finishes were in races two and 15, placing second and fourth, respectively. 
Buckley posted 10 finishes in Top 10, totaling 148 points. She came on strong late in the regatta picking up seven of those Top 10 finishes. Her highest placings came in the second and sixth races where crossed in second and sixth, respectively.   
Next up for Hawai`i sailing is the Coed Sloop Pacific Coast Championships at Newport Beach, Calif.
