Rainbow Wahine Edge Dons, 4-3

SAN FRANCISCO - The Hawai'i women's tennis team got back on the winning track with a 4-3 victory over San Francisco, Saturday, at the Golden Gate Park. The Rainbow Wahine evened its record to 2-2 and conclude its four-match road trip at Santa Clara, Monday.

UH opened the match by taking all three doubles matches, including a victory at the No. 1 court by the team of Sylvia Jaros and Justine Boutet over Camille Pamart and Megan Tiegs, 9-7.

After Kimberly Curtis and Renata Camargo both posted victories at the No. 5 and No. 6 courts over Michelle Duncan (6-2, 6-2) and Courtney Chung (6-3, 6-2), respectively, Lauren Fitzgerald gave UH its deciding fourth team point with a come-from-behind win at No. 1 over Pamart, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

With the match already decided, USF took the No. 2-4 singles, each in three sets. Sylvia Jaros dropped her match 6-3 in the third to Tiegs at No. 3. Boutet let a one-game lead slip away in her 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 loss to Gabriela Ruiz at No. 4. Mainor forced a third set after winning a second-set tiebreak but lost 6-2, 6-7, 6-1 to Anna Skogerboe at No. 4.
